Hi. I’m Jon. And my last name, Aleixo, well, it’s pronounced uh-ley-shoo.
Welcome! I believe all stories are stories of searching, stories of longing. We travel through life on a steady search for truth, for justice, for belonging, for love. Some of us have resolved that everything we have searched and longed for ultimately pointed to God. We thus made a profession of faith, and yet on many days we ask ourselves, “Now what?”
If any of this resonates with you, then this space is for you.
I’ve been writing for as far back as I can remember, but only until recently have I desired to write with specific intent. And it’s to that end that I’ve created this space. This is a home for people who want to better know and experience God, and better know and experience their neighbor.
What you won’t find here, however, are any arguments in defense of the Christian faith or attempts to prove the existence of God. My reasons are two-fold. First, I believe only God can prove the existence of God. Second, such arguments are not in my wheelhouse and have been written elsewhere by others much more proficient than I.
So who am I?
A military brat, I was born and raised in Europe until the age of sixteen. I completed my education in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute and Wheaton College Graduate School where I studied the philosophy of Christian education, ministry, and spiritual formation. I value a simple life filled by family and friendships, and enjoy reading books, cheering on Manchester United, and have a deep affinity for buttered toast. My wife, Isabelle, and I set our table in Atlanta, Georgia.
I hope this space serves as an encouragement and a challenge. If it does, please subscribe and enter into the conversation with me. I’d love to hear from you.
